Palladium is a platinum group metal and was discovered by the English chemist William Hyde Wollaston in 1803. He named it after the Greek Goddess of wisdom, Pallas Athena. Palladium has been used in the jewellery industry since the late 1930’s but has only had its own hallmark since January 2009, this has resulted in an increased interest in this precious metal. Palladium is prized for its rarity, lightness and strength. It is also completely hypoallergenic and tarnish resistant.

I have been using Palladium since 2008, it has a clean white contemporary feel that suits my work. My first piece in Palladium was a commission for a pair of earrings, since then I have used Palladium in my fold and organic pieces creating rings, earrings, necklaces and bangles.
